Kenya’s Football Federation President, Nick Mwendwa, expressed confidence that Kenya will continue to co-host the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in 2024. The tournament, which showcases the best African national teams, is scheduled to be held in Kenya along with another country yet to be determined.

Despite concerns over delays in preparations and infrastructure, Mwendwa believes that Kenya is well-equipped to successfully co-host the tournament. He highlighted the country’s previous experience in hosting international events, including the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Furthermore, Mwendwa emphasized the economic benefits that hosting CHAN 2024 would bring to Kenya, including increased tourism revenue and job opportunities in the hospitality sector. He also stressed the importance of showcasing Kenya’s capabilities as a host nation to the rest of Africa and the world.

Plans are already underway to upgrade existing stadiums and facilities in preparation for CHAN 2024, with the government and private sector working together to ensure that the tournament runs smoothly. Mwendwa assured that all necessary measures would be taken to guarantee the safety and comfort of players, officials, and spectators.

As Kenya remains committed to fulfilling its obligations as a co-host of CHAN 2024, Mwendwa expressed optimism about the country’s ability to deliver a successful tournament that will leave a lasting impression on participants and fans alike.

With the support of the government, football fans, and the international community, Kenya is confident that it will continue to be a proud co-host of CHAN 2024 and showcase the best of African football to the world.
