South African sprinter Tebogo Tlou and Ethiopian long-distance runner Hassan Abdi were the big winners at this year’s World Athletics Awards.
Tlou, known for his lightning-fast speed on the track, took home the award for Male Athlete of the Year, while Abdi, who dominated in long-distance races, was named Female Athlete of the Year.
The awards ceremony, held in Monaco, celebrated the incredible achievements of athletes from around the world, and recognized the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming a world-class competitor.
Tlou’s victory at the prestigious event comes as no surprise, as he has been unstoppable on the track all year, setting multiple world records and earning himself a place among the all-time greats in the sport.
Abdi’s win, on the other hand, was a bit more unexpected, as she had to overcome a number of challenges throughout the year to secure her place as the top female athlete in the world.
Both athletes expressed their gratitude for the recognition and thanked their coaches, teammates, and supporters for their unwavering support throughout the year.
The World Athletics Awards are a celebration of excellence in the world of sports, and Tebogo Tlou and Hassan Abdi have certainly proven themselves to be deserving winners.
Congratulations to both athletes on their well-deserved victories, and here’s to another year of record-breaking performances on the track and in the field.
